Depression Therapy

What is depression?
Depression is more than feeling sad, it's an overwhelming mood disorder that interferes with our ability to function in everyday life. It can be triggered by a variety of events, like a life transition (expected or unexpected), trauma, relationship distress, or seemingly nothing at all.

How do I know if I'm depressed?
Typically, symptoms of depression include:

  • feeling intense sadness
  • feelings of hopelessness
  • thoughts of death or suicide
  • loss of interest in things once found enjoyable
  • loneliness
  • lack of energy
  • sleep disturbance
  • avoiding people and/or situations
  • anger
  • irritability
  • drinking/smoking/eating too much

How can depression therapy help?
We help people find solutions to depression that are custom-tailored to your needs. We start by believing that your depressed feelings are driven by the way you think. To combat the depression, we start by identifying, challenging, and changing depressive thoughts into more productive thoughts. We change the way you think to change the way you feel, a treatment called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We work together to identify what's working, and what isn't, about your life and support you in making the necessary changes to find relief from depression.

At the end of treatment, you'll walk away with a new found sense of confidence and tools that will last well beyond therapy.
